.htaccess files are not supported by nginx due to performance reasons, however, most of what you would normally do there is already supported natively by VersionPress.com:

• Permalinks just work.
• Caching is part of the platform.
• Security precautions are installed at the server level.

If you need custom redirects, please use one of the WordPress redirection plugins.
